Manipur's COVID-19 positive tally reaches 1,279 with 19 new cases

The health department said that 37 more patients were discharged from Covid Care facilities on Thursday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test.

Altogether 19 more people were confirmed COVID-19 positive in Manipur pushing the state’s positive tally to 1,279, official sources said on Thursday.

Of the new confirmed cases, 10 are from Churachandpur, two each from Kakching, Kamjong and Ukhrul and one each from Imphal West, Kangpokpi and Thoubal, said a release from COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, 37 more patients were discharged from Covid Care facilities on Thursday after they were found COVID-19 free on RT PCR test, it said.

With the discharge of the 37 persons, the number of active cases stand at 663 while that of recovered cases is 616. The recovery rate is 48.16 per cent by Thursday, it added.

The health department also stated that it has maintained complete transparency on important facts related to COVID-19 pandemic and that there is no concealment of or intention to conceal facts from the public or media.
