‘Sewa Saptaha’ commences in Manipur with voluntary blood donation by chief minister
Birth Anniversary of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi which is to be celebrated for a week across the nation as ‘Sewa Saptaha’ also started in Manipur with a voluntary blood donation by the chief minster, N. Biren at the office of state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) located at Canchipur today.
“The Prime Minister is an incarnation of God and following his path will bring peace and prosperity, and the people should follow the steps of Narendra Modi,” said Biren while speaking on the occasion as the first day of ‘Sewa Saptaha’ was launched today at state office of BJP located at Canchipur.
‘Sewa Saptaha’ was kicked off by the union home, minister, Amit Shah today at New Delhi to mark the Birth Anniversary of Narendra Modi.
Biren said minister of health and family welfare, Harsh Vardhan along with him and other party members started collecting plastic bottles from Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and disposed them at a right place. In connection with the ‘Sewa Saptaha’ Harsh Vardhan himself distributed sweets to cancer patients being treated at RIMS, he added.
‘Sewa Saptaha’ will be focusing on cleanliness, single-use plastic, water conservation and others to serve the people.
He said from today, no plastic bottle will be made available in the office of chief ministers’ secretariat. Drinking water jar and a steel glass will be made available for the people who came to visit the office and it will be for ministers, MLAs and other officials. The step is taken as a part of promotion of single used plastic campaign and it would also help to bring cleanliness, said Biren.
He appealed the people to stop using plastics and stated that the people need to be cautious with the impact of using plastic against the environment.
A meeting has been scheduled for the entrepreneurs and plastic companies of the State under chief minister level to discuss an alternative solution against using of plastic, Biren added.
‘Sewa Saptaha’ will be celebrated across the State also and BJP workers starting from grass root level to higher state party level will be taking part at the celebration to honour the Prime Minister, said Biren.
As a part of the programme, party members donated blood at the state party office.
