AR conducts security meets

Mantripukhri and Tulihal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles organised security meets at Sawombung and Mayang Imphal Company Operating Bases (COB), said a release issued by IGAR (South).
The security forums were attended by Meira Paibis, Ward Councillors and representatives of local youth clubs, it said. As part of the security meets, locals were updated on current security situation existing in the area of responsibility. There were also interactions carried out on necessary measures to be undertaken for maintaining strict vigil against illicit activities in the area, it added.
In addition to the security agenda, the locals were also informed about the upcoming Army Recruitment Rally scheduled to be held at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium in Imphal from October 10 to 18, it further said. Emphasis was laid on the modalities of online registration facility at the Unit headquarters and pre-recruitment training at the COBs.
Meanwhile, in continuation of its efforts to help the local populace and in view of the upcoming recruitment rally of Indian Army, Assam Rifles Chandel Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a one month long pre-recruitment training capsule with the aim of guiding and preparing youth from remote villages to clear the physical tests of recruitment rally.
The pre-recruitment training is planned to be conducted in two phases that is in phase one preparation for physical tests and phase two preparation for written exam for those candidates who will pass physical test, it said. The phase one of the training was conducted for a duration of 04 weeks starting from August 18 encompassing documentation check, online registration, medical checkup, physical training as well as guidance for academic coaching, it further said.
The release further stated that a total of 58 candidates from Chandel and surrounding districts were imparted with pre-recruitment training. During phase one the emphasis was given on the physical training besides this motivational lectures were also conducted by the unit instructors, it said.
It further stated that during the training the youth was provided with free boarding and lodging facilities in coordination of civil administration. The pre-recruitment training was culminated on September 14 with the conduct of a closing address, it added.
