Abducted employees of Shivalaya construction released

The three employees of Shivalaya Construction Co. Pvt. Ltd. who were abducted from Sekmai Khwairakpam Kusong on November 29 evening by suspected armed Kuki militant have been released after more than 10 days in captivity.
The abducted employees were handed over to SP of Kangpokpi by Kuki Inpi and CVOs this afternoon at around 5:30 pm at Phailengkot village after they were reportedly found by the local search party this morning at around 10:00 am at Lheopehlhang located around 25 Km away from Phailengkot village.
The released employees of Shivalaya Construction were handed over to the SP by Kuki Inpi and CVOs in the presence of various other security officials, village chief and area leaders.
When president of KSO Sadar Hills interacted with the three abductees, they said that when they were abducted the abductors blindfolded them and brought to the jungle and after traveling for a long journey they kept them in a place and unfolded us.
They said that the they were given food twice a day and no harassment were meted out to them while adding that this morning the abductors blindfolded them again and abandoned them inside the jungle where the search party found them.
Speaking to media persons, president of Kuki Inpi Kangpokpi district, Seikhomang Khongsai said that the innocent villagers of Phailengkotincuding its chief and the adjoining villages have been working hard for the safe release of the abducted trio.
He appealed the state government to acknowledge the tireless efforts and contribution of the innocent local populace for the safe release of the trio. The innocent villagers have been reeling under intense hardships and grievances since the past many days owing to the deployment of heavy security in the area but despite of all their grievances they had been engaging themselves in searching the abducted trio day and night without rest, he added.
“Their efforts and contribution in helping the state government and the security forces in finding the abducted trio safe and sound is great and the government must acknowledge such contribution on the part of the civilian more particularly in such critical condition”, said Seikhomang.
He added that even the women of the surrounding areas kept aside their daily busy schedule and joined the search party in the jungle.
He also appreciated the security forces deployed in the areas for maintaining discipline and eschewing from harassing innocent civilian despite of the tense situation.
He further said that the Kuki Inpi and CVOs Kangpokpi are happy that the abducted trio have been released within the ultimatum and asserted that such anti-social activities should be condemned by all fronts and put collective efforts to curb such activities in the society.
