Super division league: wins for MPSC, NCC
IMPHAL | June 22
Manipur Police Sports Club and NCC, Khonghampat registered win by defeating their respective opponents in the 18th S Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League 2017 at SKYC ground, Sekmai today.
Manipur Police Sports Club blanked Youth Development Organisation by two goals to nil.
The goals of Khem Bahadur (45’) and Ksh Kanta Singh (50’) supported to win for MPSC.
Both MPSC and YDO outfits started with coordinate moves which the teams could not score any goals in the first 30 minute of the match.
However, before the first whistle of the first half, Khem Bahadur of MPSC opened the death lock in the 45 th minute. The teams went to the dress room read scoreboard 1-0 in MPSC favour.
The MPSC kept pressuring to raise the margin and efforts were yielded when Ksh Kanta netted in the 50th minute.
The YDO outfits gave harder efforts to find the equaliser, however the efforts could not fruitful as the rival defenders stood firm any danger posed by their strikers.
In another match, NCC Khonghampat edged past SKYC Sekmai by 2-0 goals.
The NCC, Khonghampat and SKYC, Sekmai outfits goal scored goal in the first half.
The two winning goals for NCC were scored by Ng Naocha in the 46th and 66th minute.
The teams could not score in the first half. However, Ng Naocho carried his momentum in the second half. Naocha opened the goal account in the 46th minute.
The NCC outfits kept dominated and again Naocha scored his second goal in the 66th minute and sealed the victory 2-0 in NCC favours.
