World Meetei Council (WMC) Manipur State Unit in association with Peace and Relief Committee Manipur College, Singjamei on Saturday organised a slogan campaign at Manipur College campus demanding inclusion of Meetei in the ST list of India before the 2026 delimitation.

The campaign was led by president Women’s Front WMC Manipur Uni, Urikkhimbam Matouleibi, president Youths’ Front WMC Manipur Unit Arambam Sajan and Info and Publicity Secretary WMC Manipur Unit Thingbaijam Sushila, stated a release.

Protesters urged the chief minister to send the needed reports before 2026 Delimitation to ensure constitutional protection of the Meeteis, it mentioned. Various slogans including ‘ST is the only means to save Meeteis’, ‘Send the two reports to enlist Meeteis into ST’ etc were chanted during the protest, it added.
