IMPHAL | Oct 22 ‘Ningol Chakkouba’ celebration was held at the headquarters of 109 Battalion CRPF, Mongsangei, Imphal. The celebration was especially organised for 20 inmates of old age home and they were treated with a traditional feast and gifts. A release said, the programme was attended by commandant Vinod Kumar as chief guest along with other officers and families of the battalion. IMPHAL | Oct 22 The festival of ‘Ningol Chakkouba’ was celebrated at Tulihal COB, Imphal West district on October 21, organised by 5 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles of 9 Sector Assam Rifles, said a release by PRO IGAR (S). It said the celebration included felicitation and presentation of gifts and sweets to 15 hard working women including Meira paibis followed by tea and refreshments. The efforts of the armed forces of participating in traditional festivals were appreciated by the locals.

IMPHAL | Oct 22 A team of Lilong police station arrested one person during frisking and checking at the areas of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi, said a release. It said the arrested person was identified as Md. Yahiya Khan (30), son of (Late) Md. Abdul Karim of Lilong Makha Leikai. He was caught with 5060 numbers of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules concealed inside one Bajaj diesel auto rickshaw, which was driven by him. A case has been registered at Lilong police station and investigation is going on.

Biren Singh today announced a new scheme called “CMgi Laiyeng Shen” under the MOBC Department for all the widows belonging to the under privileged sections of society, as Ningol Chakouba gifts.
