Trees were planted today at the High Court of Manipur premises by officials of the Manipur State Legal Services Authority and High Court Bar Association of Manipur as part of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.

A one day interactive programme on “Nai Roshni” was held today at Secure Building Complex Dewlahland which was organised by ministry of minority affairs (MoMA) in collaboration with National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) and ministry of women and child development New Delhi.

Various civil body organisation of Chandel district has strongly condemned the inhuman killing of Angshon Tontang (30) son of Shelmun of Biyang village under Machi block by some miscreants on June 22, said a release.
It further appealed to the state government to book the culprits and to take necessary actions to stop this type of inhuman behaviours in the state and to provide necessary assistance to the family of the victim for their survival.

All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) has shared the grieves of people who were injured and left homeless during the recent clash between the villagers of Machi and Khudei Khunam villages of Tengnoupal district on June 20, said a release.

The officer in-charge of the then Special Intelligence Unit (SIU), Kangjam Ranjit, one of the prosecution witnesses in the 2013 Tulihal drug haul case, today confessed before the court that he received threats to his life in connection with the case.

A new committee named Wildlife Protection Forum, Manipur (WPFM) was formed today to safeguard wildlife in the state and preserve nature. Members of the new organisation include functionaries of BJP and All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU).
Manipur state BJP cultural cell convenor, Sh. Nabachandra Sharma, singer, popularly known as Naba Volcano was appointed as the chairman of the new committee while AMWJU president, W. Shamjai as co-chairman.
