IMPHAL | Oct 22 The state government is committed to increase the seat capacity of the main stadium of the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex from the present seating capacity of 25,000 soon, said chief minister, N. Biren. This was stated by him at pre-season friendly match played between NEROCA FC, Imphal and North East United FC held at the Khuman Lampak main stadium, Imphal today. Speaking as chief guest of the match, chief minister said that the main stadium ground is being developed into the football field of International Standard with natural grass turf fields so that the State could host various international football matches in future. Interlocutor, RN Ravi will be arriving on the day itself in Dimapur from New Delhi. The first round of talk was held in New Delhi on September 27 to resolve the protracted Indo-Naga political issue. THOUBAL | Oct 22 Former minister of medical, forest and revenue departments of government of Manipur, Thoudam Krishna Singh expired today at around 11:50 am at JNIMS. He was 86. He had five sons and seven daughters. Thoudam Krishna Singh became MLA from Thoubal A/C in the year 1980 and later became cabinet minister for medical and animal husbandry. He won election for the second time in 1990 and became cabinet minister for forest and revenue. The former minister’s last rite was done to day evening at his birthplace Thoudam Maning Leikai.

IMPHAL | Oct 22 The directorate of university and higher education, government of Manipur has notified for application of fresh and renewal of NEC scholarship for the academic session 2017-18 through online with effect from November 1 to December 31 at the website www.highereducationmanipur.gov.in of the directorate. IMPHAL | Oct 22 The Manipur State Film Development Society will be sponsoring two delegates from the state with lump-sum financial assistance for participation in the 48th International Film Festival of India 2017, organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, government of India in Goa. The festival scheduled to be held from November 20 to 28.
