Bail granted for three

Three among four individuals arrested by the Imphal East district police commandos on November 28 with a large number of arms and ammunitions were released on bail today by the chief judicial magistrate, Imphal West.

The individuals released on bail were identified as Konsam Joykumar Singh (47) son of late Babudhon Singh of Thongju Part-II, Huidrom (O) Jibanlata Devi alias Mounao (54), wife of (L) H. Ingo of Thongju Pechu Lampak and Naorem (O) Premial Devi wife of N. Bhume of Pechu Lampak Kha Naorem Leikai.

There were released on bail after the court granted their bail prayer and executing PR bonds of Rs.50,000 each with one surety each.

Three of them along with Naorem Bhume Singh (44), son of late N. Ibochou of Pechu Lampak Kha Naorem Leikai were arrested from their respective houses by a team of Imphal East district police commandos in separate search operations on November 28.

From their procession police has recovered one AK-56 rifles along with five magazines, 15 live rounds of AK-56 rifles, one Lethod gun along with 10 live shells of Lethod, one 9mm pistol, two mobile phones and some equipment for modifying guns and were handed over to Singjamei police station.

In the meantime, the court has remanded Naorem Bhume to judicial custody for a period of 15 days for further investigation as prayed by the investigating officer of the case.
