District Health Mission Society, Tamenglong, today organised a healthy and baby show competition at district hospital Tamenglong, Duigailong village.
Deputy commissioner of Tamenglong, IAS, Armstrong Pame and zonal education officer Tamenglong, Gaidonlung, graced the occasion as the chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.
In the said programme, chief medical officer Tamenglong, Dr.Chambo Gonmei, DIO/ Family Welfare Tamenglong, Dr. Sunil and several doctors were also present.
The competition was held in three categories, namely babies within 6-11 months, 12-23 months and 24-36 Months. The prizes carried a reward of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1000, along with a certificate, for the first, second and third position, respectively.
Sangsunglin I. Damai, daughter of ID. Duna of Namtiram village bagged the first prize In the 6-11 months category. While twin sisters Soihiamganliu Gangmei and Sohiamlingliu Gangmei, daughter of Lungthao Gangmei, Chingkhiuluang Tamenglong ward no V, won the second and third prize.
Further, in the 12-23 months category, 1st, 2nd and 3rd position was awarded to Pouchamlung Daimei, son of Benjamin, Guigailong Tamenglong, ward no. II, Kathailiu T. Panmei, daughter of Meikin T. Panmei, Chabagan Tamenglong, ward no. VIII and Lungsumpou Gonmei, son of Thuantaliu, New Salem Tamenglong, ward no. IV, respectively.
Lastly, in the 24-36 months category, Poukenbunang Pamei, son of Sunita Pamei, New Canaan Tamenglong ward no. III, Rachunthai Gangmei, son of Ringthuanliu Gangmei, Kahulong village and Niamthaingam Pamei, son of Thomas Pamei, New Salem Tamenglong, ward no. IV, bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, respectively.
Chief medical officer Tamenglong, Dr. Chambo Gonmei in his speech stated that to have a healthy baby, the mother needs to be healthy first. He further added that a healthy child would lead to a healthy and robust society, which will, in turn, result in a strong nation.
