Ukhrul ‘No To Litter’ campaign

The Youth in Ukhrul under the aegis of Environmental Force at Grassroot Level (ENFOGAL) continues their campaign, "No to Litter", in Ukhrul town.

As a continuation of their campaign against littering at public places, the volunteers of ENFOGAL took up a social work from Ukhrul Town Hall to Wino Bazaar. The volunteers collected cigarette butts, food wrappers and waste plastic that were thrown haphazardly in the heart of Ukhrul town.

According to the information secretary of ENFOGAL, Soreingam Khamrang, the third phase of the campaign will cover the stretch of road from Wino Bazaar to Awontang. He also added that the entire campaign would cover the whole stretch of Ukhrul town.

At the end of the social work, president of ENFOGAL, Yoyung Shaiza, expressed his gratitude to Ukhrul Small Town Committee, under ADC-Ukhrul for providing their trucks to dispose of the waste that had been collected. He also conveyed his appreciation to the executive member, ADC-Ukhrul, Kapangpam Zimik, who is also the in-charge of Ukhrul Small Town Committee.

It is worth mentioning that "No to Litter" campaign being envisioned for a clean environment, ENFOCAL will be recycling the waste plastic materials which have been collected in the course of the campaign for making chairs and dustbins, in the near future.
