IMPHAL | Nov 17

Joint action committee for selected beneficiaries under the prime minister’s employment guarantee programme (PMEGP) for 2016-17 has condemned the order inviting applications for 2017-18 while overlooking the unsolved matter of selected beneficiaries from 2016-17,  said a release.

It said, the order was issued by director of commerce and industries on November 8 and the industrial departments, KVIB, KVIC and DIC have omitted the PMEGP beneficiaries of 2016-17.

The JAC has further warned the director not to allow fresh applications until funds for the 2016-17 beneficiaries are released, failing which it will take legal action against the department, it added.
