Person caught for selling fake birth certificate

A person was found selling fake birth certificate in Lalpani Part-II, Jiribam district and later made to apologise by the locals of the area in front of SDC.

The person who was doing the unlawful activity is a son of ward member of Lalpani Part-II, Aruti Begum and his name is Hussain Ahmed.

According to the locals, Hussain has given fake birth certificates of many of their children with payment of Rs. 450 each. However, Hussain revealed that the certificates were not made by him though he has been selling them.

The booth level officer of Lalpani Part-I, Md. Makram Ali has stated that he has reported about the activity to the authority concerned. He also stated that many women who are married to persons from Cachar, have two voter lists, one in her in-laws place and one in Lalpani. The authority concerned has also been informed about cancellation of married women’s voter lists in their maternal home, he added.

Later, locals took Hussain Ahmed to DC office, where Hussain apologised to the SDC, H. Dhananjoy Singh that he will not repeat such unlawful activity in the future.
