A week long fitness training so as to have more efficient police force concluded today with last day of Annual Classification Range Firing 2016-17 at BSF/STC's Satpal Choudary Shooting Range located at Mualkoi, Churachandpur.
Various weapons like AK 47,303 riffle, SLR, pistol and the newly acquired MP5 automatic gun were fired by the district police as firing practice which was also a renewal course for cleaning the weapons.
The week long training that included drills, used of lathi and shields and various physical fitness exercise was initiated under the idea created by Rakesh Balwal, who personally involved himself in all the activities of the programme.
The SDPO of Churachandpur Ghanashyam Sharma commanded the firing today and stated that the position holders in the classified firing will remain as a record for the police department.
The SP thanked the team of deputy commissioner for attending the programme inspite of the hectic work regarding the negotiation for the burial of the eight tribal Martyrs.
The closing day of the training programme was attended by more than 500 police and VDF personnel and prizes were distributed to the best shooters from different category starting from inspector, sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspector, head constable, constable and VDF.
In the classified firing, the first position was scored by sub-inspector P Veven Gangte, followed by inspector RK Anil and third position by sub-inspector Lalbiaklun, and moreover, asst sub-inspector Thangoulian, head constable Ginzalal Khongsai, constable Thangminlun Haokip scored first positions in their respective categories and for VDF, Thangkhomang and Ksh Pradeep Singh shared the first position together.
