Jodhachandra Sanasam to be feted

Sahitya Thoupang Lup (SATHOULUP) will be giving the Nonghthombam Kunjamohan Prize, which is an award for translation given every two years, to the translator Jodhachandra Sanasam.

Jodhachandra has been awarded for his translation of Hijam Anganhal’s epic poem ‘Khamba Thoibi Seireng’ into English, said a release. The prize will consist of Rs. 10, 000 along with a citation and a shawl, it said.

The award will be given on the occasion of celebrating the International Translation Day and the 125th birth anniversary of Anganghal at Manipur Press Club on September 30, it continued.  Poems of Anganghal which had been translated into English, Japanese, German, Burmese, Hindi, Bengali, Nepali, Tankhul, Kabui, Thadou, Chiru and Chothe language will be read out on the day, it added.
