A baby named Thingam Malemnganba Singh (1 year, 6 months) son of Thingam Sanatomba from Nungu Mamang Liekai today fell into a river at Nungu, Pombikhok Litan bridge, which connects the road passing through Sugnu Assembly constituency and  Kumbi Assembly constituency.

The baby is yet to be found. His elder brother Roshan (12) was bringing him at around 10 am today on a cycle to her mother who was working at the paddy field at Pumbikhok. While crossing the Litan Bridge, the chain of the cycle fell off. While trying to put the chain back by leaning down the cycle, the baby accidentally fell off from the Litan bridge into the river below.

The family, who lives a very poor life, has 6 children and Malemngangba was the youngest. As for now, people from the village are still trying to find baby.
