Free gas connection reaches poor

Families below poverty line are receiving free gas connection through Ujjwala scheme at Khonghampat on Sunday.

A simple function of distributing free gas connection under Ujjwala scheme was held today at the residence of social worker, L. Bobby Devi at Khonghampat Awang Leikai.

Speaking to media persons, Bobby said that today they were able to distribute free gas connection through the newly launched Ujjwala scheme to needy people. 

Such facility provided to poor needy people shows the welfare works taken up for the needy people by the new BJP led government, she added.

Bobby further mentioned that people can take privilege from Bandhan Bank, Lamlong branch official to get enough knowledge about loan for 5 to 10 self-help groups and through the bank’s scheme people can get benefit of connection with bank for sustainable life style.

In the function, Seija proprietor of Manipur Gas Service handed over free gas connections to beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme.

Moreover, Ch. Krishnakumar, branch manager of Bandhan Bank has distributed loan amount to self-help groups. Each member will get Rs. 20,000 each.

The function was attended by Laishram Nabakumar, retd. cashier of SBI.
