A combined team of Imphal West police commandos and 6 Assam Rifles led by OC of Imphal West police commandos, Inspector P. Achouba Meetei under the supervision of additional SP (ops), Imphal West S. Ibomcha Singh reportedly arrested an alleged ZUF cadre from New Keithelmanbi village at around 9 pm today, said a police source.
It further said that he has been identified as Guangchuilung Rongmei alias Arong alias Achui alias Rajesh, 26 son of Kalababu Mura of Tousem village, Tamenglong district.
On investigation he revealed that he joined the said organisation in January, 2016 through one self-styled Army chief Jianchui of Khoupum village and presently working under the command of self-styled Lieutenant RK alias Simi John by holding the rank of corporal, it said.
One Sumsung mobile handset has been recovered  from his possession, it said adding that he was involved in many extortion case.
Thoubal district police commando arrested one active worker of PREPAK, identified as Naorem Surajkumar singh alias Nanao, 36, son of N. Herabi singh of Keirak keisham Leikai after conducting frisking and checking at Sekmaijing Ningol Khong near water supply, on June 15, 11 AM, said a release.
Investigation revealed that, he was involved in extortion of money for the said organisation. The maruti van bearing registration number MN-04/1415 and other incriminating articles were seized from his possession, it added.
Two UGs of the outlawed UTLA, identified as Lunkhupao Haokip alias Papao, 32, son of Ngulkhohou Haokip of Zalenphai village, churachandpur and P. Minthang singson, 28, son of Hangkhoken singson of Longkaiphun, Tamenglong were arrested form a hotel located at Jiribam Bazar by a team of district police commando, Jiribam on June 15, 4pm, it said.
Incriminating articles were seized from their possession, investigations revealed that, they were involved in abduction of two staff workers of coastal project, NF-RLY at Oinamlong, Tamenglong for ransom and smuggled arms, ammunition and drugs from Myanmar to Manipur, it added.
Further it said on their disclosure, one woman, identified as Tingkhohoi, alias kangnu of Mission compound, Jiribam was arrested from her residence and seized 15 grams of heroin powder.
Investigations revealed that she was also involved in smuggling drugs form Myanmar along with the offenders mentioned above.
Meantime, a team of narcotics and affairs of border PS arrested two drug sellers identified as Thongkholun khognsai, 51, son of (L) Tiljang Khongsai of Sugnu Monomjang village and Doungul Ngamkhol haokip, 42, son of D. Jamkhoson haokip of JS Jangnoi village form  Sugnu Tribal Veng Juntionl. 7 kgs of Opium valued about 5,00,000 in local marked was seized from the possession of Thongkholun Khongsai, the release added.
