Okram Sagei prize distribution

IMPHAL | June 18
Okram Sagei Apokpa Trust (Thoubal Tabal Pu) organised 16th annual prize distribution function yesterday, for state level and Okram Sagei meritorious students at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
Prizes were distributed to students who had passed class 10 and 12 and CBSE, 2017, best sportspersons in fencing, football, hockey.
Financial assistance to the destitute old Okram ningol, oldest Okram piba and ningol including old women registered vendor of Ima Keithel, Khwairamband bazzar.
Giving the keynote address O. Mangi, secretary of Okram trust said the trust with its limited fund, which was generously donated by the members of the Okram sagei, started the award giving programmes in the state level and sagei level since 2002 for three meritorious students of the state respectively in the HSLC and higher secondary examinations.
He also said from 2004 the trust started giving the award on CBSE students also.
The award comprises of a cash value of Rs. 3000, Rs. 2500 and Rs. 2000 respectively on the best three students with a citation each.
Financial assistance for the destitute women of the Okram ningol and old women registered vendor of Ima keithel comprises of Rs. 5000 each with gift, while the financial assistance to the oldest Okram piba and ningol comprises of Rs. 3000 each with gift, he added.
Mangi further mentioned that giving award to the best sportsperson of Manipur up to junior level commenced from 2010 with a cash prize of Rs. 5000 each with a citation for each discipline.
