Many places flooded in Thoubal

Due to the heavy downpour in last few days, the water level of Thoubal River, one of the rivers running through the valley, has risen at alarming level.  It has overflowed at some areas affecting many crops and vegetables which are now, under water.
At Phouden Keiranbi area, the river has flooded many lanes and courtyards of the locality. 100 acers of crops are now under water. It has also overflowed at Thoubal Haokha sorarel area and the water is running on the national highway. Around 800 houses were flooded at Thangjam Lane, Thoubal Kiyam Sifai, Laisagol Leikai area and damaged many property. The animals no longer have their sheds.
At the backside of Babu keithel, Kiyam sifai thoubal, the locals have made a barrage to stop the overflowing area but the condition remains alarming. Areas at Sabaltongba, awang leikai and mayai leikai, the river overflowed and houses, property and crops were flooded.
The river overflowed at other areas like Thoubal moijing, leisangthem, Thoudam and Irong Mayang Imphal etc. At moijing Khangabok area the river, at a length of 800 feet overflowed, but no reliefs have been provided so far.
