12 June 2017

IMPHAL | June 12 Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long in a release has called for immediate intervention from the Directorate of Transport, government of Manipur on the failure of District Transport office, Ukhrul to issue smart card driving licence to the populace of the district. It said TMNL in its routine check of attendance of the government employee has found that the irregularities of DTO Ukhrul are a major factor in the smooth functioning of the office. Shortages of staffs, lack of electric generator and internet connection have added to the woe of the people, it added. Earlier, the DTO Ukhrul had issued a notification dated 29/05/2017 stating that the office will not accept submission of driving licence Form 2 & 9 till July 1, 2017 due to inconvenience of internet connection and power irregularities, thus leaving many applicants for smart card helpless, it said.
