My door is open to the needy: Hangkhanlian

“It’s an age of information technology and of intense competition, and it’s a time for survival of the fittest”, said V Hangkhanlian the minister of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry while congratulating 36 successful candidates of the district Meitei community.
The minister was speaking at a felicitation programme organised by Churachandpur  Meetei Student Union, held  at khumuzamba Meetei leikai  for those  who have succeeded  in  the resent exam in the  HSLC & HSC Exam  2017 including  a one gold medallist from PG exam  from the locality.  
The minister said that the district is lagging behind in so many fields, adding that it will be his priority to give good water supply and quality roads.  He said his doors will be always kept opened for anyone who needs help.
 The DC of the district, Poonia speaking on the occasion said that obstacle is a challenge in getting success but it is all about struggle to get through and excel.  He also encouraged the students to join civil services which are a noble way to serve the country.
Congratulating the successful candidates, the DC urged them to have a cosmopolitan outlook. He also urged the public to be aware about various government schemes and to utilise them properly.
Late in the afternoon the ministerial team and top officials of PHED, IFCD inspected the water supply at Khuga intake point. They observed that the water reservoir needs to be reconstructed.
Deforestation and quarrying are the main reasons of drying up of the water, which leads to shortages in the town, maintained the officials during the inspection. The ministerial team also inspected the right side of khuga dam canal at different places.  And more importantly they inspected the defunct bus terminal located at Pangzawl village.
