The minister and BRO

The new Cachar road or NH 37 has long been a sore thumb among the highways of Manipur and it was politically correct for Dr Khumujam Ratankumar Singh to visit this vital lifeline by road, after taking over as the Works Minister. His statement that he has come not to find faults but to help the Border Roads Organization (BRO) in speeding up the construction work on the highway speaks volumes of his firm attitude, quiet confidence and the importance that he places on the said highway.....

AFSPA: an internal security threat

IMPHAL, May 17: The Narcotics Cell of Imphal West Police led by OC Th Shanti seized one kilogram of cocaine from the possession of one person at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai today at around 11:30 am.

Apprehended

IMPHAL, May 17: Troops of 1/11 Gorkha Rifles under the aegis of Red Shield Division apprehended two persons suspected to be ex-cadres of HPC (D) from Khomoi village in Churchandpur district today, stated a PIB release.

The two were later identified as Sangzuol, 33, son of Lala of New Saikot and John Lal Kiemlo, 32, son of Hmangthnlien of Khomoi village, the release said.....

ENPO demands audience with PM

NEW DELHI, May 17 (Vision Communications): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation has asked the Centre to hold a high level meeting between the leaders of ENPO and the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to “discuss the long-pending issues of the Eastern Nagaland.”
