Tribal women bodies reject pact

CHURACHANDPUR | May 17

All Tribal Women Union (ATWU) and All Tribal Movement Lamka (ATML) rejected the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the state government and Joint Action Committee Agaisnt Anti-Tribal Bills (JACAATB), declaring it a ploy to deny the rights of the tribal enshrined in the Constitution.

14 trucks carrying illegal logs pulled up

Forest and Environment minister, Th Shyamkumar pulled up 14 trucks loaded with logs, illegally brought from Myanmar via Kamjong district in Ukhrul today. The truck drivers, carrying fake transit pass, were taking the logs to the neighbouring state of Nagaland.
